Just recently I’ve had a client who’s really been into shapes lately and I realized, I need more interventions that incorporate shapes! This month I am sharing this visual aid that has various shapes with the word below it. For my client, this is important because I plan on incorporating spelling the word as well. However, if that’s a little too much for your client(s), you can always leave out the spelling and just stick with identification. 

In my session, I will modify the melody in the song, “BINGO” to incorporate each of the shapes on the visual aid. I also plan on having my client (and I) strike a drum with each letter to help reinforce. I also thought that after spelling each word I could also ask my client to trace each shape with the mallet. However, as always, I’ll typically have several variations to the intervention, but I’ll always reassess how the client is doing and modify as we go along.
