It’s time to get ready to go back to school! This mom is extremely happy, but honestly as a music therapist I’m happy as well because school provides such a great structure for kids that can get lost in the summertime. Kids do so much better when they know what is going to happen and have clear boundaries for behavior. It can be kind of daunting for kids to make the transition from fun summer to structured school. It’s always best to start preparing kids a few days before like reading books about school or even just talking about what their days will be like this year and what they will be doing. Music is a great tool for that transition, it can help pump you up or it can help you wind down. I even use it as a timer for my kids to help move things along when they’re getting ready in the morning. In this blog I created a few ways that music can help you and your little ones make the transition a little easier. I hope this can help and happy back to school!
