About KidLinks:

KidLinks is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides healing, hope, and happiness for
children and families through music therapy programs, therapeutic music entertainment, and online music media. For over four decades, KidLinks has provided healing experiences for children with special challenges, funded therapeutic music initiatives, implemented university-level music therapy training, and offered free/low-cost treatment programs for children in need. KidLinks has proudly and positively impacted the lives of over 420,000 children and caregivers.

Job Summary:

The contract, part-time Therapeutic Music Entertainer, under the direction of the KidLinks Founder and Co-Executive Director (Programs), is responsible for providing 10+ hours/month of live music at bedside, in clinics, and with groups in playrooms and waiting rooms at hospitals, special care centers, and community organizations throughout North Texas.

Goals of the Position:

● To serve children and families who are in need of Therapeutic Music Entertainment
● To continue to grow public awareness and support through KidLinks Therapeutic Music
Entertainment program
● To serve as a KidLinks ambassador on audio and related projects that will support and promote KidLinks (a plus)

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

● Conducts Therapeutic Music Entertainment locally – 10+ hours per month
● Faithfully represents and carries out the mission, goals and spirit of service embodied in the
KidLinks philosophy
● Protects the confidentiality of sensitive information
● Helps set the tone and carries out the vision of the organization
● Creates new songs/music for KidLinks use (a plus)

Qualifications:

● Strong vocal and music performance skills
● At least 3 years experience working or volunteering with children
● Strong project and time management skills
● Exceptional written and oral communication skills
● Exceptional interpersonal skills
● Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for the KidLinks
mission
● Committed to, and proficient in, serving children with special medical and emotional needs

Working Conditions:

● Position requires an individual to work independently of a structured office environment
● Position requires an individual to be available for limited travel
● Position requires an individual to travel within the North Texas area on a regular basis
● Position requires an individual to perform in many different types of environments
● Position requires reliable personal transportation for off-site performances
● Position requires a valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
● Position requires Volunteer Department training in venues to be served, as required
