About KidLinks:
KidLinks is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides healing, hope, and happiness for children and families through music therapy programs, therapeutic music entertainment, and online music media. For over four decades, KidLinks has provided healing experiences for children with special challenges, funded therapeutic music initiatives, implemented university-level music therapy training, and offered free/low- cost treatment programs for children in need. KidLinks has proudly and positively impacted the lives of over 420,000 children and caregivers.

Primary Responsibilities & Duties:

Reporting to the Board of Directors and in partnership with the Co-Executive Director (Programs), the Co- Executive Director (Development) will lead and direct the day-to-day management and enhance organizational processes and infrastructure that will allow KidLinks to continue to grow and fulfill its mission. Development responsibilities include planning, organizing, and directing all of KidLinks’ fundraising, including the major gifts program, annual fund, planned giving, special events, and capital campaigns. This role is supported by a Programs & Grants Coordinator (direct report), and Marketing team.

Board Governance - In collaboration with Co-ED (Programs):

● Works with the board in order to fulfill the organization's mission
● Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions

Organizational Management - In collaboration with Co-ED (Programs):

● Oversees and implements appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization
run smoothly
● Financial Management
● HR & General Operations
● Provides leadership to and manages the efforts of staff to ensure appropriate support of all
departments
● Coordinates and leads annual budget reviews, monthly and quarterly reviews, and periodic
forecast updates with operational and senior management for all locations
● Approves major systems implementations/changes

Development Responsibilities:

Goal Setting / Budgeting:
● Sets annual monetary goals and budgets according to short- and long-term goals
● Establishes fundraising objectives for the organization, setting one-year, five-year, and
longer-term goals

Direct Fundraising:

● Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospective and existing donors
● Strengthen relationships with potential financial donors, including corporations, foundations,
and individuals
● Communicates with donors and staff via email, phone, or social media
● Uses prospect research tools and donor database to build and expand donor relationships
● Creates solicitation materials for fundraising efforts

Events:
● Plans and executes fundraising events that effectively communicate the mission of the
organization (2 major annual events in February and October)

Grants and Public Funding:

● Oversees grants management, including researching available grant options, editing and approving grant proposals, and ensuring (along with the Programs & Grants Coordinator) that reports are submitted in a timely manner

Qualifications and Skills:

● Bachelors degree
● 5+ years in development experience in the nonprofit sector
● Advanced knowledge of fund development theories, principles, and procedures
● Advanced written and oral communication skills
● Knowledge of direct mail requirements and best practices
● Ability to adjust work pace to maximize production without loss of work quality
● Ability to plan and execute special events
● Knowledge of grant writing and grants management
● Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and problem solving skills
● Excellent attention to detail
● Tech-savvy and knowledge of different CRM systems

This position is full-time and is hybrid (in person and remote). Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
