Is technology appropriate for our children with disabilities?

As our need for technology and the way it is consumed continues to change, are we putting our most valuable and vulnerable children at risk? Think about your first computer. If you are old like me, the new product of my day was called an iMac.

Now think about how mobile technology is today. No longer do we have to go to a large, clunky computer to access the Internet or to play games. It's all at our fingertips on various devices. Some parents may fall for this instant online babysitting service unknowingly and other parents may have realized how addictive technology is to their children. As with anything these behaviors could have unintended consequences. I was shocked to read the below articles and discover what the researchers had found. Is technology appropriate for our children with disabilities? I certainly don't have the answer to that question but it's made me think.
